After moving from Denver to Keller, I basically retired. To keep busy I have started making my own art. I basically take an article written by someone else and take their words and pictures and turn it into a piece of art.

The larger the article, the larger the piece of art.

I would like to thank my wife for all the encouragement, support and patience she has given over the past couple of years as I started the process of producing the art work.

I would also like to thank Molly Eisenman, without whose help, none of this would have happened. Molly currently works for Hobby Lobby and has done the yeoman's work of all the cutting and pasting, making the frames and we have had numerous discussions on what each piece should look like. I cannot thank her enough.

The Art Work

The first piece I did was about Richard Fisher, the president of the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank. This piece was written by Erica Greider and the photographer was Jeff Wilson. This article came out of Texas Monthly October 2013. This was delivered to President Fisher over the Christmas Holidays of 2013.

My second piece was about Michael Baker, the owner of the Ft Worth Royal Enfield dealership. The piece was written by Gail Bennison and the photographer was Alex Lepe. Ft Worth Magazine published this in February 2014. I gave this to Michael in May 2014.

My third piece was about Texas Senator Ted Cruz. The article was written by Erica Greider and the photographer was Jeff Wilson. This was in Texas Monthly February 2014 edition. While I have met Senator Cruz on at least two occasions, I left this piece of artwork at his Dallas office. Here I am standing next to it in his Dallas office.

The fourth piece was all about Governor Greg Abbott. This article was written by Bryan Sweany and the photographer was Leann Mueller. This article was published in Texas Magazine October 2014

The Governor and Cecilia the first lady are sitting beside the piece. From right to left behind the piece of artwork is Molly, my wife Peggy and myself.

The fifth piece of artwork was all about Chip & Joanna Gaines who have a TV show called 'Fixer Upper'. I read an article about them in the local Keller paper. It was a very well done piece, so I kept it. About a year later, I got together with Molly and we went over what I was hoping for. As usual, Molly knocked it right out of the park.

Here is the artwork after it was finished and delivered to Magnolia Market in Waco, Texas.

I'm in the middle designing the sixth piece of art and have the articles I am considering using.
